The weather is getting warmer and sunnier, and as the transition from winter to spring continues, the landscape transforms around us. Trees sprout fresh, green leaves, and flowers begin to blossom. Everyone looks forward to this time of year after being cooped up from the winter cold.  We rush outside to enjoy warm sunshine, throw open our windows and breath in that fresh, spring air!  Then we hesitate - we have become exposed to our springtime enemy, pollen.  This small speck of dust can send so many into a horrible state of discomfort.  For more than 24 million Americans, spring marks the beginning of seasonal allergies.  We become congested and uncomfortable as our bodies try to defend against pollen.

This year can be different.  You can defend yourself naturally and create an allergy fighting routine by adding immune boosting products, local honey, and essential oils.

Boost Immunity:

There are many natural products that will give your immune system the upper hand against allergens, including mushrooms, Astragalus, and Ginseng root.

Mushrooms are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which are all important in supporting healthy immune function.  Maitake and Red Reishi mushrooms are known for their immune boosting vitamins and nutrients.  The Maitake Mushroom is rich in vitamin D, and D-Fraction, while Red Reishi is abundant in polysaccharides; both are exceptional immune supporters.

For a quick and easy routine supplement, add a few drops of Super Immune to a glass of water.  This liquid extract contains a combination of herbs, including Red Reishi, Astragalus, and Ginseng to help support healthy immune function.

Enjoy Local Honey:

Research has suggested that eating honey made from local bees may increase immunity to seasonal allergens. By ingesting locally produced (preferably raw) honey, you are introducing a small amount of pollen from resident flora into your system.  This helps your body become accustomed to local pollen.

Try mixing local honey with our Breathing Easy Tea for a touch of sweetness, to build allergen immunity, and to help soothe allergy symptoms.

Essential Oils:

Essential oils are a great tool that help in a variety of situations, including relief during springtime allergies.  Peppermint, lemongrass, and lavender, are key essential oils during allergy season.  The combination of these three oils promotes clear breathing and a healthy immune response. In your diffuser, add equal parts of peppermint, lemongrass, and lavender oil for a refreshing scent, and to aid in fighting off pesky allergens. You can also combine these oils with coconut oil for relief from minor discomfort.

With extra immune support, and a new springtime routine, you may have the opportunity to enjoy the season, rather than letting pollen get the best of you.
