Benefits of a “stay-cation”

Summer is here and that means vacation for a lot of people but with costs rising on food, gas, and pretty much everything else this also means a lot of people are wondering if a vacation is going to be possible this year. The answer is, yes, take a stay-cation. Here are just a few of the reasons a stay-cation is, in my opinion, better than setting off to a destination.

First, it’s a lot less stressful. Vacations are supposed to be a time to relax and unwind but planning a trip can be quite stressful. By the time you plan where you’re going, how you’re getting there, where you’re going to stay, what you’re going to do and see, make your schedule and try to stick to it, how relaxing is it really? A stay-cation cuts a lot of that out, you can skip right to the part where you relax. At home, you don’t feel the pressure to do and see everything while you can.

A stay-cation also gives you the chance to explore your local area more and discover things you didn’t know were there. It also gives you an excuse to check out that little pub down the street you always wanted to try or the little shop down the road you’ve never been in. It also gives you a chance to take several smaller trips and can help you discover and appreciate how great the area you live in really is.

Finally, the money you don’t spend on travel and hotels is just more money you can spend on doing things to enjoy yourself on your vacation. Or you can just save the money and just be at home and truly relax. Just enjoy being at home without anyone expecting you to be anywhere.

Hopefully, this was helpful, now get out there and enjoy the summer!
